Like many great story tellers, Bong Joon Ho ends Okja in the same place that it starts - Mija's home in the mountains, with her grandfather and Okja. Yet, even though they end up in the same place, so much has changed about them. Mija has learned about the cruelty of the real world, and though they have saved Okja from death, Okja's fellow super pigs will be slaughtered mercilessly under Nancy Mirando's direction.

Okja is a film that not only entertains, but seeks to persuade viewers to consider what they are eating. It criticizes capitalism by showing how profit driven actions cause large scale suffering for animals, and deceives the common person.
